HUAWEI E880 and its indications




Hi Friends here we are going to discuss Huawei's Wireless modem E880. when I saw this modem its different look attracts me to look it closer.

Its major advantage that I feel is more cute looking and can use in any 3G network. we can Insert the User Identity Module (UIM) card into the slot of the data card with the golden contacts side facing downwards.

It will work on HSUPA/HSDPA/UMTS 2100/900MHz EDGE/ GPRS/GSM 50/900/1800/1900MHz
Receive Diversity(2100/900MHz)Networks with HSUPA 5.76Mbps/HSDPA 7.2Mbps as a data network technology. SMS service also available other than the data services.Its quite easier to use - Plug & Play. Another interesting and important advantage is that it have a 
push to push antenna for more sensitivity.

As other Data Card usage it also required some basic configuration of the Computer
To use the E880, the computer must meet the following requirements:
Equipped with ExpressCard slot.
Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista.
Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5 with latest upgrades
Your computer’s hardware system should meet or exceed the recommended system
requirements for the installed version of OS.
Resolution for the display: 800 × 600 or above.

As we discussed it have a Built-in Aerial. It can be Simply press the end and it will extend. its  recommended to have the aerial extended when connected to get optimum performance. 

Indicator are quite helpful for the Users to Understand the Network/technology it uses.

Colour Status Meaning

Green Blinking (on for 100ms and off for 100ms; then on for 100ms and off for 2700ms)
The E880 is powered on.
Green Blinking (on for 100ms and off for 2900ms) The E880 is registered to a GSM / GPRS / EDGE network.
Blue Blinking (on for 100ms and off for 2900ms)The E880 is registered to a UMTS network.
Green On The E880 is connected to a GPRS/EDGE network.
Blue On The E880 is connected to a WCDMA network.
Cyan On The E880 is connected to a HSPA network.
Off The E880 is removed.
